Stainless Steel Kitchen Sinks: 5 Ukinox Picks From £77

A stainless steel kitchen sink is the workhorse of most UK kitchens: hygienic, heat-tolerant and easy to wipe down. Ultra Bathroom's kitchen sink collection is built around Ukinox polished stainless steel models, from compact 380mm bowls to a generous 1000mm sink. Here are the five best sellers right now.

Best-selling stainless steel kitchen sinks

At the larger end, the Ukinox Micro Master MM 1000.510 (1000×510mm, polished stainless steel, left and right option) is £199. Step down a size and the Ukinox Micro Series ME 500 measures 500×400mm and costs £145.

For tighter cabinets, the Ukinox Micro Series ME 400 (400×440mm) is £108, and the Ukinox Micro Series ME 340.340 (380×380mm) is just £77. If you want a seamless look, the Ukinox D 400/R50 undermount sink (400×400mm) is £90.

How to choose the right kitchen sink

Start with the cabinet. Measure the base unit width and the existing cut-out before you buy, because the sink has to fit inside the unit with room for the waste and supply pipes. Next, decide between inset and undermount: an inset sink sits on top of the worktop and suits most surfaces, while an undermount sink such as the D 400/R50 is installed beneath it and is normally paired with a solid worktop such as stone or composite.

Then think about how you use the sink. A single bowl handles large pans and baking trays more easily than two small bowls, and our single bowl sinks range covers every size above. If you cook a lot and wash up by hand, go for the biggest bowl your cabinet allows.

Sizing it to your kitchen

The five sinks cover a wide range of footprints. The ME 340.340 and D 400/R50 suit small or secondary spaces such as utility rooms, bar areas and compact galley kitchens. The ME 400 and ME 500 are practical step-up sizes for a main kitchen where worktop space is tight. The 1000mm MM 1000.510 is the one to choose if you have a wide base unit and want room to wash large items, and its left and right option lets you match the drainer side to your layout.

Why polished stainless steel?

Polished stainless steel is easy to keep clean and suits both modern and traditional kitchens. It is also the finish used across all five sinks above, so you can compare sizes directly on price and dimensions. Prices run from £77 to £199, which makes it easy to match a sink to a budget without changing material.

One practical tip: wipe the bowl dry after use and clean along the grain of the finish to keep it looking sharp, and avoid leaving wet cloths or metal pans sitting in the bowl for long periods.
