Bathroom Trends 2026: Warm Finishes, Textured Radiators

Posted by Ultra Bathroom on

Bathroom design is moving away from cold greys and shiny chrome towards rooms that feel warmer, calmer and more tactile. Based on recent UK coverage from Which? and bathroom retailers, here are the trends worth knowing about in 2026 and how to use them without regretting it in three years.

Warm colours replace cold grey

Retailer round-ups for 2026 point to earthy shades such as terracotta, sage, sand and putty, with warm white preferred over stark white. Some designers also suggest colour drenching, where one colour runs across walls, vanity, tiles and trim. It is bold, so a sensible test is to try it in a small room such as a cloakroom before committing a main bathroom.

Brushed finishes and natural textures

Which? reports brushed nickel overtaking chrome as the favoured metal finish, partly because it hides water spots and fingerprints and is easy to keep clean. Oak and oak-effect wood, natural stone and large-format tiles (60 x 60cm and bigger) are the other recurring materials. A practical note from the same coverage: larger tiles mean fewer grout lines but may need an experienced fitter.

The takeaway is not to rip out everything chrome. Pick one finish family for the visible hardware and stay consistent, including the small items such as radiator valves.

Heating becomes a design feature

Radiators are no longer something to hide. Trend round-ups highlight textured, fluted designer radiators in grey and anthracite tones, which add the ribbed, tactile look seen in vanities and glass screens. If you are planning a refresh, it is worth choosing the radiator at the start of the project rather than last. Our Designer Radiators collection is a good place to compare styles and finishes.

Cleaner lines and smarter toilets

Wall-hung toilets with concealed cisterns are repeatedly named as a minimal option, and they make the floor easier to clean. Smart toilets, with features such as adjustable spray, heated seats, air dryers and self-cleaning, are also getting attention. If you like the idea of washing as well as flushing but want a simpler step up, a wall hung bidet toilet combines the clean wall-hung look with a built-in bidet function. Check that your wall can take a concealed frame before you commit.

How to pick what suits you

Trends date, so spend the budget where it lasts: good plumbing, sound heating and fittings you will not tire of. Use colour and accessories for the trendiest touches because they are cheap to change. For more ideas and the full range, visit Ultra Bathroom.
