Designer Towel Rails UK: Stainless Steel Buying Guide

A designer towel rail does two jobs: it warms and dries towels, and it gives a bathroom wall a focal point. If you are comparing designer towel rails, here are five of our best sellers and how to choose between them.

Five best-selling designer towel rails

Prices below are the starting price for each model; the final price depends on the size you choose.

• Reina Luna Vertical Flat Stainless Steel Polished Finish Designer Towel Rail – from £135. The most affordable in the range, with a flat-bar vertical design.
• Reina Florina Chrome / Anthracite Finish Designer Towel Rail – from £149. A two-tone finish for bathrooms with dark fittings.
• Reina Cavo Polished / Satin Finish Stainless Steel Designer Towel Rail – from £219. Combines polished and satin stainless steel for a contrasting look.
• Reina Arden Polished Finish Stainless Steel Designer Towel Rail – from £236. A polished stainless steel rail with a clean, modern profile.
• Reina Helin Polished Finish Stainless Steel Designer Towel Rail – from £276. The top of this selection, in polished stainless steel.

Polished stainless steel or chrome/anthracite?

Four of these five rails are stainless steel, which suits bathrooms where a bright, reflective finish helps a small room feel lighter. The Florina's chrome and anthracite finish is the one to look at if your room has darker tiles or black accessories. Mixed finishes such as the Cavo's polished and satin combination add detail without needing a second colour.

A short buying guide

Start with the wall space: measure the height and width available, leaving clearance from doors, basins and shelving. Next, decide how it will be heated. Check each product page for the heating options and outputs offered, and make sure the output suits the size of your room. Finally, consider the finish against the rest of the room, because a designer towel rail is usually one of the most visible fittings.
